Sign in and open a repository
Start by signing in and confirming that SynckHub opens the correct tenant and repository. If this step is wrong, every later workflow becomes confusing.
Before you start
You need:
- a SynckHub account
- a tenant or company workspace
- access to at least one repository
- a supported browser
If you received an invite link, keep it available. Invite links are sensitive until accepted.
Step 1: Sign in
Open the SynckHub web app for your environment and sign in with your account email.
Some deployments use public signup and email verification. Others require an administrator to create or invite users. Follow your organization’s onboarding policy.
Step 2: Accept any pending invite
If you were invited to a tenant, repo, or folder:
- Open the invite link.
- Sign in with the same email address that received the invite.
- Complete any password or verification steps.
- Continue into the repository after acceptance.
If you are already signed in as a different email, use a private browser window or sign out first. Invite acceptance is tied to identity.
Step 3: Confirm the tenant and repository
After sign-in, SynckHub resolves your available repositories through the control plane.
Check that:
- the tenant or organization name is correct
- the repository slug in the URL is expected
- Explorer opens without an access error
- the folder tree or default workspace content is visible
If you can sign in but the repository is missing, ask an admin to check tenant membership and repo access. Tenant membership alone does not always grant repository access.
Step 4: Set or change your default repository
If SynckHub opens the wrong repository, use default repository settings when available.
Set the repository you expect to use most often. This affects where you land after sign-in, but it does not grant access by itself.
Step 5: Verify Search and Explorer use the same context
Open Search from the same repository and run a simple search for a known file, folder, note, or task.
You are ready to continue when:
- Explorer works
- Search works
- both are using the same repository
- you can create content in at least one folder
Common issues
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| You can sign in but see no repository | Ask an admin to assign repo access |
| Invite acceptance fails | Confirm the invite email matches the signed-in email |
| The wrong repository opens | Update your default repository setting |
| Explorer opens but content is empty | Confirm folder permissions, not just tenant membership |
| Search returns nothing | Confirm you are searching the same repository and have access to the content |
