Install Web Desktop and Mobile

Most teams should use multiple clients, but with clear intent for each one.

Web app (default)

Use web as your baseline client:

  • full repository navigation
  • broad feature coverage
  • easiest onboarding and support
  • admin and advanced configuration workflows

If you are unsure where to start, start here.

Desktop app (power workflows)

Use desktop when users need tighter OS-level workflows:

  • open and edit with local desktop tools
  • structured local editing flows
  • sync sessions and local working-copy behavior
  • Save As ingestion and OS-level file handling
  • native notifications and other desktop integration behavior

Desktop matters most for heavy document-production teams.

Mobile app (on-the-go)

Use mobile for fast response workflows:

  • read updates quickly
  • respond in chat and tasks
  • capture lightweight changes away from desktop

Do not assume mobile has identical coverage to the web app. Treat it as a focused companion, not as the universal admin client.

  1. onboard all users in web
  2. add desktop for high-edit users
  3. add mobile for responsiveness and field work

Operational check

After rollout, verify:

  • the same repository opens correctly in web and desktop
  • desktop users can complete at least one realistic edit flow
  • mobile users can respond without being pushed into shadow workflows outside SynckHub
