People, Companies, and Directory Pages
The old mental model of one big “Directory app” is no longer accurate.
There are two different things in the product:
- explorer-owned relationship views such as Companies and Contacts
- repo directory and governance pages such as Users, Groups, Agents, and Public links
Explorer-owned entity views
Companies and Contacts are user-facing working views.
They expose company workspaces and contact records as structured lists, with filters such as:
AllMyRepo
These views are for relationship work in the same repository context as files, notes, chats, tasks, and cases.
Repo directory and governance pages
The /directory/* routes are different. They are more operational and administrative.
Common examples:
UsersGroupsPublic linksAgents
Use these when you need governance, membership, or management workflows rather than ordinary day-to-day project work.
Practical rule
If the goal is “work with this company or contact in context,” stay in the Explorer-owned entity views.
If the goal is “manage repo users, groups, or public links,” use the directory pages and treat them as admin surfaces.
