Product Guide FAQ

Should I share folders or files?

Share folders for ongoing collaborative workstreams. Share individual items for narrow, short-lived access.

No. A link only points to location. Authorization is enforced at request time.

Why can someone browse a folder but not open all files?

Browse and content-read permissions are separate in fine-grained authorization models.

When should I use Search versus Explorer?

Use Explorer for known ownership/navigation paths. Use Search when location is unknown or cross-folder discovery is faster.

Why are Email or Calendar tabs missing?

Those views are deployment-dependent and may be disabled by policy/configuration.

Use shared links for read-only external distribution with expiry/revocation controls. Use user invites for ongoing collaboration.

Can I coauthor every file type?

No. Coauthoring support depends on file type, deployment configuration, and integration policy.

What should I do before restoring a previous version?

Confirm the target version with collaborators, assess impact, then restore and document the reason.

What is the most common team mistake?

Over-sharing early (especially at root scope), then trying to repair permissions later.

What is the fastest way to improve team performance in SynckHub?

Standardize folder naming, enforce least privilege, and keep tasks/chats/notes in the same folder context as the actual work.
