Tabs and Views Overview

Use this page to choose the right view before starting work.

View selection map

  • Explorer: folder-first browsing, creation, and organization
  • Search: retrieval across folders when location is unknown
  • Directory: users, groups, contacts, and companies
  • Email: mailbox workflows (when enabled)
  • Calendar: event workflows (when enabled)
  • Collections: structured metadata-driven records and filtered views

Default behavior for most users

  1. start in Explorer
  2. switch to Search for discovery
  3. use specialized views only when workflow requires them

Common mistake

Using Search as primary navigation for everyday work. Search is strongest for retrieval, not as a replacement for stable folder ownership.
